Everybody loves Yellowstone National Park. It is the first National Park. It has geysers, hot springs, bison, elk, bears, lakes, waterfalls, hiking beautiful views. It is truly an amazing place.

It's a sad fact that many people don't know of the many activities to do that are in the area, but outside of the park.

Yellowstone National Park 2022 flooding

On June 13, 2022, Yellowstone National Park temporarily closed due to flooding. Some roads in north loop of the park had some serious damage. Both the upper and lower loops are open again now. In all, 90% + of the roads are back open. For more information, check the official flood recovery page for Yellowstone National Park.

So what do I do if I'm not in the park?

The good news is there is still plenty to do outsied the park.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are a wealth of opportunities. There are hundreds of miles of ATV trails. There are a multitude of amazing hikes outside the park.

For history buffs, there are museums and tours galore.

If you just want an evening of entertainment, there are a plethora of restaurants, and even live stage productions and movie theaters.

There are horseback riding excursions (Many include dining under the stars!) There are adventure courses and trips to take.

And of course, nature doesn't stop being incredible the moment your cross the line out of the park. There are caves, waterfalls, scenic vistas and much more in the area, too.
